Self Access study is independent study where all participants (students and teachers) are not bound to classrooms and school schedules. Nice, isn’t it? you don’t have to sit in your “boring” classroom listening to your fussy teachers.

Instead, you can set your study goal, define how you will study , browse your study materials, and even you can test yourself!! So where will the teachers be? Well, they will be just people to come when you have problem.

That is the fully-independent self -directed study. I don’t think most of you are ready to have that kind of learning. Moreover, I’m not sure that your teachers are willing to give up their “power and control” over you!

So, to move a little bit slowly, and make both parties happy, there is Semi-Guided Learning. In this learning, teachers will give minimal direction like only setting time and topic. The rest is for you to decide.

There are many resources that you can use to expand your knowledge and skills trough self access study. You can use books, fliers, comics, movies, CDs or DVDs. You can also read magazines and watch news on TV and radios.

Wanna be more sophisticated? Try online method of self access study. Use Internet connection to get the latest assignment and involve in discussion. you can download valuable information and upload your ideas. Cool!!
